Your plan

This course follows the book's life stages and generations, from the young investor to the legacy keeper, and shows how the same ideas apply at each age. It describes the book's frameworks for how much is enough, a personal audit, a monthly, quarterly and annual routine, self-directed IRAs, mining stocks, and the six principles of its closing manifesto. By the end the reader has a way to think through their own situation in their own terms.

Lessons

  1. Where Are You in Your Family's Legacy? (Check yourself): Two minutes, with no dollar figures, to find your place in your family's chain and the stage of life the book would put you in. It places you as receiving from an older generation, in the middle or at the top, or leaves you unplaced. It then names one of the book's four tiers.
  2. Which Gift Would They Keep? (Check yourself): About a minute to think through a gift of metal: who it is for, the occasion and what matters most about it. It ends with one suggestion, not a list. The suggestion is a place to start thinking about the gift.
