About the Grand Junction Gold Guy
We buy and sell gold, silver and coins from a counter in Grand Junction, Colorado. This page says plainly how we work, so you can decide whether it suits you.
Where we are
Our counter is in Grand Junction, Colorado. You are welcome to bring your gold, silver and coins to it, and you can also reach us by telephone or through the contact page.
Weighed and tested in front of you
Everything you bring is weighed and tested in front of you. We make an offer on the weight and the purity we test, not on a stamp, a photograph or a description.
Offers in writing, with the arithmetic shown
Our offer is written down, and the arithmetic behind it is shown: the weight of pure metal, the spot price, and the percentage we pay for that kind of item. The written offer is what counts, and you are free to say no to it.
What we sell
We sell gold and silver coins, bars and rounds, and collectible coins, in our Coin Vault. Gold and silver is tested before it is listed, and graded coins are listed with their grading service and certification number. We describe condition and flaws plainly.
If a piece is ever found not to be authentic, or not what we described, we refund the full price and the shipping, and we pay the return shipping. The full terms are on the shipping, returns and authenticity page.
What we publish
We publish articles, videos and a book about gold, silver and coins. They describe what a number or a market term means. They do not tell anyone what to buy or sell, and nothing we publish is financial advice.
Who writes this

The Gold Guy wrote REAL MONEY, a precious metals playbook, and writes the newsletter and the members' letters. All of it explains what a number or a market term means, in plain English. None of it predicts a price.
What we will and will not do
We will
- Weigh and test what you bring in front of you, and write the offer down with its arithmetic.
- List every graded coin with its grading service and certification number, and describe condition and flaws plainly.
- Refund the full price and the shipping, and pay the return shipping, if a piece is not authentic or not what we described.
We will not
- Make an offer on a stamp, a photograph or a description alone.
- Tell anyone what to buy or sell, or predict a price.
- Pressure you to accept an offer. You are free to say no.
